I really need to vent right now.

My husband has been riding me all day about how I need to 'step it up' on the holidays. He is upset because he decorated this year and bought the costumes. He seems to forget the circumstance surrounding this Halloween.

Last year, the boys and I decorated. I bought spider webs and we put them all around the house. Keith hated them. For the past year all I've heard about is how horrible the spiderwebs were and how they got everywhere. Keith did not want to have them again this year.

Fast forward to this year. We went shopping and bought a whole bunch of Halloween decorations. To my surprise, Keith wanted to get the spiderwebs. I was not going to be the one to put them up, not after last year. At the time I was just entering tech week for the play I was doing. I told Keith that I would be happy to decorate after tech week was over. Well, he couldn't wait and decorated himself, thought he didn't put up the spiderwebs. We were going to get the costumes together as a family like we did last year but we ran out of time. So, Keith went with his mother, who is visiting, to go and get them. They spent all day out getting the costume and going to lunch. They seemed to have a good time. I was going to go with them but Harrison was home from school with a fever and someone had to stay home with him.

Keith worked Saturday and had Sunday, Halloween, off. When he came home Sat. he was upset that the kids were watching Halloween cartoons on the TV. He wanted us all to be waiting for him to have family movie night. I felt that we could start the movie after the cartoons. He was very pissy about this. But after the cartoons were over, which the kids really enjoyed, we watched our movie.

Sunday, Keith woke up early to play a game on the Xbox. Later that morning he decided he wanted to take a nap. I went to eat breakfast and watch some poker on TV. I felt it was a fairly casual morning, no hurry. Keith wakes up and is upset that I haven't got anything ready. I was planning on it, I just hadn't done it yet. I was just going to throw the kids in clothes and put their costumes over them. But Keith wanted them all ironed. I thought that was a little silly, you aren't even going to see the clothes but whatever the clothes were ironed.

Keith was in such a hurry that we got to the mall for the trick or treating 2 hours early. We were going to eat but that didn't start until 5:00pm and it was just before 2:00pm. Somehow this was my fault but I'm not sure how. I was just bitched at about it.

MacGregor didn't want to wear his mask. He said it was hot and it wasn't comfortable on him. I was fine with him not wearing it. I knew he liked it and that it was just really hot in the mall at that time. Keith insisted on him wearing it. Anytime Mac took it off Keith freaked out on him, yelling at him about the stupid mask. Finally, I said enough and took the mask away and told Keith to stop yelling about the mask. I could tell he didn't like that but he never said anything else about the mask.

We had dinner at the Old Country Buffet and everything went fine there. The boys were all very happy including their father.

Finally, we went Trick or Treating around our neighborhood. Keith wore a mask that kept fogging up on him. He was being a bigger baby about his costume than the kids ever where. I didn't yell at him once. Then he started in on me about how much he has to do and how I need to step it up, he can't do everything.

Excuse me!!!

Who set up every Holiday last year, including birthdays?

Who has taken the kid trick or treating more?

Me!

I was so pissed.

Since that day we have worked it out and he has apologized so we're fine. I'm just tired of him assuming I do nothing because he had to do one holiday.

Shel
